Judicial Training Institute (JTI) Benchmarking Exercise At The National Judicial College, Nevada.

In June 2019, AGA organized a benchmarking exercise in which senior management from the Judicial Training Institute (JTI), Kenya got to learn and interact with their colleagues at the National Judicial College in Nevada.

The 4-day training workshop dubbed ‘Advancing the development of Kenya’s Judicial Training Institute: A strategic Development Workshop’ took place on 17th – 20th June 2019 at the National Judicial College in Reno, Nevada.

Participants drawn from the Judicial Training Institute (JTI) in Kenya had the opportunity to visit and interact and learn from the highly qualified faculty at the Judicial College in Nevada. The training workshop covered many areas, among them: the planning circle; needs assessment and the development of goals; making courses relevant; Kolb’s learning style inventory (LSI); teaching to different styles; drafting learning objectives and programme plans; assessing the impact of trainings; best practice in structuring JTI; research and policy, strategic planning, among others.

JTI’s Director Justice Kathurima M’Inoti conveyed immense gratitude for what he termed a most useful exercise. He expressed optimism about continued collaboration between JTI and AGA AAP.
